Editorial Policy
How we choose what to cover, how stories are reported and edited, and how we keep published work current.
Last updated
Purpose
Buzzing Money Guide publishes explanatory journalism about retirement and senior benefits. Our editorial decisions are guided by usefulness to readers, accuracy and clarity.
Editorial independence
Decisions about what we cover and what we say are made by editorial staff. Advertisers, sponsors and business partners do not review, approve or direct editorial content.
Sourcing
We prefer primary sources, including statutes, regulations and official agency publications. When we rely on secondary sources, we identify them. Articles include a list of key sources where practical.
Editing and review
Articles are reviewed by an editor before publication. Editors check structure, clarity, sourcing and whether a story fairly represents the rules it describes.
Updates
Benefit rules and dollar thresholds change. When we materially revise an article to reflect new information, we display an updated date. Substantive corrections are handled under our Corrections Policy.
Not individualized advice
Our content is general and educational. It does not take into account any reader’s personal circumstances and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
